FOBISIA TENNIS 2024
Age groups
● Boys - U10, U11, U13, U15, over 15 ● Girls - U10, U11, U13, U15, over 15 Date of Birth - Date of Birth will apply based on age as of August 1 2023. Each player may only enter into one age division but can play up one age group. U10 events will be using green dot tennis balls - 75% compression
Format / Draw
● All age groups will be round-robin and then progress to knock-out with players guaranteed a minimum of 3 matches. ● There will be some additional activities for those who are knocked out of the main competitions. ● All matches will play two ‘first to 4’ game sets with tie break at 4-4 and a 10 point tie break to decide the third set. ● Sudden death deuce will be played (receiver’s choice) There will be lets on the serve - serve will be replayed. ● Format will be round robins all day Friday and Saturday morning and progress to the knockout stage and finals Saturday afternoon, and Sunday. ● U10 events will be using green dot tennis balls - 75% compression

U10 & U11: March 1 - 3 2024 ● Thursday February 29 Students will arrive to Hua Hin in the afternoon/evening and check into the hotel ● Friday March 1 7.00am - practice courts will open for competitors 7.45am - opening ceremony 8.00am - first matches of the day will commence 5.30pm - last matches of the day commence ● Saturday March 2 7.00am - practice courts will open for competitors 7.45am - first matches of the day will commence 2.00pm - knockout event will commence as well as remaining Round robin and consolation matches to continue 5.30pm - last matches of the day commence 7.00pm - GALA Dinner @ Amari Hotel Hua Hin. A wonderful opportunity to talk tennis and make new friends. This will be finished by 9:00 pm in order to allow plenty of rest before the final day of Tennis ● Sunday March 3 7.00am - practice courts will open for competitors 7.45am - first matches of the day will commence 9.00am - Pickleball Social Event will be open for competitors no longer competing in the tennis tournament 2.30pm - semi Finals and Finals to take place once draws are completed to this stage 4.00pm - presentations and award ceremony U15 and Over 15: March 8 - 10, 2024 ● Thursday March 7 Students will arrive to Hua Hin in the afternoon/evening and check into the hotel ● Friday March 8 7.00am - practice courts will open for competitors 7.45am - opening ceremony with Thai National Anthem at 8am 8.05am - first matches of the day will commence 6.30pm - last matches of the day commence ● Saturday March 9 7.00am - practice courts will open for competitors 7.45am - first matches of the day will commence 2.00pm - knockout event will commence as well as remaining Round robin and consolation matches to continue 5.30pm - last matches of the day commence 7.00pm - GALA Dinner @ Amari Hotel Hua Hin. If you require an extra night, please inform us as soon as possible in order to secure your requirements.
Tournament fee
The entry fee is 4,250 THB (123 USD) per player which includes; ● Tournament entry ● UTR accredited and registered matches ● Tennis tournament souvenir, ● Lunch on Friday - Sunday ● Prizes and trophies for all winners, runners-up and third place. As part of the tournament fee and in addition to the tennis competition there will be a range of other activities, workshops and information shared with competing students during their time at FOBISIA Tennis 2024 ● US College pathways webinar with Study and Play USA ● Nutritional advice ● Mind Strength training programs and mentorship available ● Access to 1:1 strength and conditioning training, with personalised programmes and an online coach to support your ambitions after the event and in your own time ● Pickleball challenge ● And various fun events to further enhance the experience for all
Gala dinner
The gala dinner is a fantastic opportunity for all the players to meet new friends and create memories that will last. We strongly recommend attending. This will take place on Saturday evening and is included in the cost for players staying at the recommended hotel (Amari+). For those not choosing the Amari+ accommodation option, an additional 1,500 THB will be charged to cover costs.
Refreshments
Water will be supplied throughout the tournament, and a mid-morning snack of fruit each day. Lunch for participants will be available, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These costs are included in the participation fee. Competitors will also be able to purchase additional healthy food and drinks onsite at True Arena.
Tournament Souvenir
Every athlete and coach/teacher will receive a FOBISIA TENNIS souvenir.
ACOMMODATION
We are delighted to offer our partner hotel Amari Hua Hin as the tournament hotel. They have put together an amazing half board package for tennis competitors and their coaches/school staff. The Amari Hua Hin Hotel is just over 2km from True Arena by foot and approximately 5 minutes by minibus. It is positioned close to other Hua Hin attractions including Cicada night markets, BluPort mall and several other convenience stores and shops. We will provide minibus transport between the hotel and tournament location for all schools who have booked their accommodation at the official partner hotel. Accommodation packages are for 3 nights - dates are February 29 - March 3, 2024 (U10 and U11 Tennis) and March 7 - March 10, 2024 (U13 and above) and are discounted for FOBISIA Tennis. Additional nights before and after this are also available. The costs include breakfast and buffet dinner and gala dinner at the Amari Hotel (lunch is included in the Tennis entry fee). The rate is inclusive of government tax and service charges.
The Amari hotel will be able to accommodate all tennis competitors and coaches. The FOBISIA Tennis Gala Dinner will also be held at this venue for the convenience of the tennis competitors. Registration is open from July 15th 2023. A deposit of 50% of the full payment is required when final numbers are confirmed in early November. Final payment must be made by February 1st 2024. We strongly advise booking the discounted accommodation above, no shuttles or transfers will be available for other hotels with these deals. We politely request that parents do not stay in the Amari Hotel. However, they are welcomed to join the gala dinner at 1500 thb per person. Places can be reserved by emailing info@teemsglobal.org
Airport / Bangkok transfer
This can be arranged for all schools. Please ensure this is noted when registering and we will be in touch with further details.
Registration
● Please complete the registration link indicating your initial interest in joining the Tournament with an estimate of student and staff numbers. The deadline for FOBISIA schools to register interest is Friday 22nd September. After this date, other schools may be invited to attend. ● Early November we will send further information asking you to confirm your final team names and ages - based on FOBISIA rules August 1, 2023. ● Invoices will then be sent, please note final confirmation is only when payment has been made in full. We will also confirm this via email once payment has been made. ● UTR registration link will be sent for all players not currently register on the UTR system ● Each school is initially limited to 5 boys and 5 girls per age group. If you wish to enter more players, please note this on the initial registration of interest and we will accommodate your request if at all possible, depending on numbers.
Deadline
Once an age group has reached the desired number of entries we will waitlist or refuse any further entries to that age group. We anticipate this will occur well before the entry deadline in several age groups.
*If a school wishes to extend their trip and enjoy a variety of activities or cultural experiences. Please let us know and we can make recommend recommendations.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of a cancellation by a participant/s (such cancellation taking place not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the event), the following cancellation charges will apply:
