Invitation and Overview
Dear Directors of Sport, Heads of PE and Heads of Football,
We are delighted to invite you to the first FOBISIA Football tournament of the 2023/24 academic year. This will take place at the fantastic Alpine Resort, situated approximately 30 minutes from Chiang Mai City and 40 minutes from Chiang Mai airport. The airport is well connected with direct flights to most major hubs across the region.
The football fields at Alpine are FIFA quality and fantastic, many professional club sides from Japan, Korea, and Europe choose to use this facility for off season training. FOBISIA will have exclusive access to all the pitches.
Tournament Details
We have split the tournament into two parts this year to cater for every age group and ensure the tournament is appropriate for each age group, is child centred (for example, no 6am matches and late finishes).
The two tournaments have been split:

November 16th - 19th: U19, U11 and U9

May 23rd - 26th: U13 and U15
The tournaments will run over two days and we will look to ensure the maximum amount of playing time for every team. There will be cup, plate and bowl competitions for each age group and we will also run a ‘B/2nd team’ tournament for as many age groups as possible if space allows.
Age Group and Pitch Sizes
There will be three age groups playing at this tournament:
November

U19 - 11 a side boys, 9 a side girls

U11 - 7 a side

U9 - 7 a side
May

U13 7 a side

U15 7 a side
The U19 age group will play 11 a side matches on a full size
(120 x 80m) pitch

The U11 will play on 60 x 40m pitches

The U9 will play on 50 x 35m pitches
(The U13 and U15 tournament 7 a side, 60 x 40m, pitches)
Additional Information
The number of confirmed teams in each group will ultimately affect the tournament format. However, we are provisionally looking at pool matches with play offs to follow, there will be cup, plate, bowl competitions etc to ensure maximum appropriate games for all involved.
B/2nd Teams
Due to the available number of pitches and to ensure as many students can experience this tournament as possible, we will be looking to open this tournament to B / 2nd teams. Schools must be entering an A/1st team in the tournament in order to also enter a second team.
If this option is preferable, please indicate on the registration form.
Non-FOBISIA schools
The tournament is a FOBISIA tournament and priority will be given to FOBISIA schools, however if there is sufficient room then places will be available for non-FOBISIA school teams too.
If places allow there may be room for additional teams in some groups. Please indicate the preference on the registration form and we will confirm the place ASAP.
The registration process on this page will be for the November tournament, a separate webportal will be created and shared for the May tournament in October 2023.
Accommodation
We have secured excellent accommodation packages for schools attending FOBISIA Football.
Alpine Resort Hotel
We will host the tournament at Alpine Resort, capacity is limited to 250 persons and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so we encourage early sign up. The hotel is situated approximately 10 minutes walk away from the football fields, although there will be a complimentary shuttle service during the day.
Centara Riverside
The alternative recommended accommodation is at the Centara in Chiang Mai City, this is located approximately 30 minutes away from the location of the football tournament.

We have managed to agree fantastic FOBISIA preferred rates for both hotels and football tournament. If you choose to stay at one of our recommended hotels the total cost will be 11500 thb per player.
Full board accommodation only cost (coaches and teachers) = 10,000 thb

Registration
Football Only Cost
For entry to the tournament only (without accommodation) the charge is 22000thb per team and which allows one coach per team. For additional staff the charge is 4,000thb per coach.
Please note the cost to enter is based on a maximum squad size of 12.
If you chose to stay at an alternative hotel we can arrange airport transfers for a 40 seat coach, including luggage.

Refreshments
There will be refreshments available during the tournament on pitchside, in the hotel and immediately adjacent to the playing services.
There will also be a ‘market village’ area with multiple food and refreshments stands available immediately adjacent to the playing area.

Officials and Medical
The tournament will be officiated by Thai FA accredited officials.
There will be various first aid stations available on pitch side to cover minor injuries, there will also be a standby ambulance on site at all times. The hotel also has an air conditioned first aid room available approximately 10 minutes walk from the playing area.
There are various international hospitals situated in Chiang Mai, approximately 30 minutes away. Bangkok Hospital caters for international travellers and accepts nearly all forms of medical insurance.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of a cancellation by a participant/s (such cancellation taking place not less than fourteen (14) days prior to the event), the following cancellation charges will apply:
